April Tiger Cub News

Achievements for Today's Den Meeting:
Do Elective #30 (Plant a seed) - Plant a seed, pit, or green tops from something you have eaten. We will also plant some seeds in plastic cups and talk about what is needed for them to germinate and grow.
Do Elective #23 (What kind of milk?) Find out what kind of milk your family drinks and why. Discuss all aspects of your family milk choice, including taste, nutrition, possible allergic reactions, containers (size, type, cost), and convenience. We will also taste different kinds of milk.
Learn a new song.
Homework:
Do elective #37. Take a bike ride with your adult partner.
Go See It:
April 20 Den activity at the Advertiser in Antioch. The time is 6pm and will run approximately an hour to an hour and a half. We will learn how an ad is created from phone call to print. Hope to see you there!
May TBA Den activity at the B&G Cyclery 131 E. Rollins Rd., Round Lake Beach IL 847-201-4468. We will learn about bicycle maintenance and safety. We will learn about what you can do to take care of your bicycle so that it lasts a long time.

June 27 Cubanapolis. Build a cardboard race car and race your car through an obstacle course. Races will begin at 9am. Bring your family. Siblings will also have an opportunity to participate. Families are encouraged to create poster boards to cheer on your favorite racers.
June 19-21 Fun with son camping at Makajawan.

Achievements for Today’s Den Meeting:
Review: Cub Scout Sign, Cub Scout Motto, Cub Scout Salute, Webelos, Cub Scout Promise, & Law of the Pack
Requirement: #2F (read a map) and find the local library, museum, and other points of interest. Each scout will receive a map courtesy of Brian Budil at State Farm. If you are looking for an agent for insurance, this guy is good.
Homework:
Practice #2F (Page 46): Read a map and show your other family members the locations you find at the den meeting.
Go See it:
February 15 1:00pm-? Tour Kenosha Public Museums to learn about history in our region. $3 per person per museum donation and $.25/ride for Streetcar Ride. Meet at POP and leave 1:10pm prompt. Accomplishes 1G.

Optional (Fun Family Tips): Elective #47 (Page 144) Learn about what you can recycle in your community and how you can recycle at home. Learn about things that need to be recycled in special ways, such as paint and batteries.
